Ania Small, Ph.D.

I see my role as helping people live happier and healthier lives. I like to facilitate progress and help people take an active role in the process of change. I believe in creating a good working relationship with the clients, and identifying goals and ways to accomplish them. I see health as both mind and body related and like to address both as much as possible in the therapy framework. In other words, I like to pay attention to lifestyle and behavior patterns and ways they enhance and or interfere with one’s sense of wellbeing. I use cognitive-behavioral, family systems and reality therapy approaches in my work as a therapist. I often work with mindfulness in addressing different issues.  I teach Akido, "the martial art of peace"  to adults and children.  Aikido is a great way to get fit, reduce stress and learn how to protect your self in a fun safe supportive environment.                    www.aniasmallpsychologist.com     www.aikidoofmaine.com
